Responsible for the Strategic Supply Chain targets as per Krones Global Strategy. Lead Purchasing, Warehousing and Logistics functions.


Your Tasks
  1. Responsible for achieving annual cost saving targets through effective management, vendor negotiations, stock control and process management.
  2. Identifying and constantly analysing the processes and procedures, improving efficiencies, both internally and externally.
  3. Ensure continuous learning and development of employees i.e., talent reviews, succession planning, career pathing.
  4. Support and ensure SHE requirements are adhered to and always enforced throughout the Supply Chain Management.
  5. Support Krones Global Logistics Strategic activities and oversee import and exports with freight forwarders.
  6. Management and ensure compliance to the rules and regulations of the customs processes according to the country’s legislations.
  7. Support Krones Regional Head Office (MEA) & Krones Head Office (KAG) material management strategy by overseeing the monitoring, analysis and optimization of processes and operations thereof.
  8. Oversee the effective handling of Inventory and dead Stock management to meet Global KPI’s, including reporting.
  9. Establish good business relationships with both internal and external customers by meeting operational timelines and goals.
  10. Optimization of all purchasing initiatives ensuring best Purchasing practice and Contractual compliance.
  11. Interviews and negotiations with vendor representatives to establish new sources, products and methods of purchasing, assisting with supply problems, specification variation and pricing issues ultimately ensuring spare part availability.
  12. Ensure compliance of specification for equipment and services in conjunction with KAG requirements.
  13. Review specifications for materials, supplies, service or equipment to be purchased as required in conjunction with KAG requirements.
  14. Drive the optimization of Purchasing processes, inventory management, operational supplier management to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness as well as supplier reliability.
  15. Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities (supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, financial performance).
  16. Ensure PSL/Vendor management is in accordance and aligned to KAG’s procurement strategy.
  17. Manage local manufacturing and quality of equipment and components activities.

The Head of Operations will be based at the global manufacturing site in Boksburg and will report to the Manufacturing Director. Duties & Responsibilities

Desired Experience & Qualification

The ideal candidate will have a degree (commerce or industrial engineering, or similar) from a leading university; at least 10 years’ experience in a packaging/production management role in a FMCG environment; exceptional organisational & leadership skills.

A keen eye for detail and an action-orientated collaborative style will be important attributes to succeed in this dynamic team environment.

You’ll lead our Strategic Partnerships (SP) practice in Africa and the Middle East. Our practice assists our emerging market clients solve complex supply chain, trade, and policy challenges. Our Transportation and Supply Chain service is part of our SP and helps leading companies in all regional industries develop and implement future-oriented maritime logistics strategies. We do this by thinking outside the box, leveraging our network, developing genuine relationships, and transforming their supply chains to be reliable, cost-competitive, and ready for ocean transport.

What You'll Do

You will provide business executives and government officials with a holistic, end-to-end view of transportation and supply chain traditional levers (e.g., inventory, S&OP, planning, and segmentation) and logistics levers (e.g., warehousing, order processing, ocean transportation management, and delivery), and return (returns processing, refurbishing, recycling, and disposal). This includes gathering and analyzing local, regional, and international dynamics, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members and report to GMS management as needed. Typical projects may involve upgrading line and staff skills, changing the reporting relationship structure, developing improved processes and procedures, and instituting rigorous target-setting, and working with local embassies or consulates. You will work with the client to realize immediate savings by building and executing network strategies and leveraging networks to achieve higher levels of effectiveness and efficiency. In this position, you will advise both senior individuals at client organizations and existing client service teams on driving transformational change toward a resilient international supply chain.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in international trade and commerce, international development, international relations, global supply chain management, marine transportation, maritime logistics and security, or a similar advanced degree is preferred.

10+ years of Supply Chain Management and/or consulting experience

Professional experience in negotiation, business development, Automotive, Industrial/Consumer Goods, Retail or General Merchandising, Project Cargo, Bulk Commodities, and Terminal Operations.

Led or had a core role in projects in one of the following areas: design and implementation of logistics strategy, network design and optimization, transportation, warehouse design and optimization, supply chain planning and management processes, supply chain modeling and optimization, and customs clearance.

Hands-on experience collaborating with foreign diplomatic officials, economic development agencies, port authorities and terminal operations, warehousing, cold-chain, and optimizing all value chain stages.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and fostering a can-do, collaborative team environment.

Willingness to work and live overseas.

Local language proficiency is a plus.

Job Description:

The Supply Chain Officer provides administrative and operational support across procurement, stock control, and sales functions. This role ensures that all necessary checks are completed for the receipt and movement of raw materials, mixed raw materials, and finished goods, while maintaining accurate records in the ERP system. The Supply Chain Officer also supports the sales team by providing information on stock availability, packing options, and production requirements, ensuring seamless service to both local and international clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement and Receiving Support

  • Perform all required checks and documentation for receiving raw materials, mixed raw materials, and finished goods.
  • Ensure delivery notes, supplier invoices, and quality checks are verified and accurately captured in the ERP system.
  • Maintain supplier and materials records to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Flag discrepancies or quality issues to the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager for resolution.

Administration and ERP Management

  • Accurately capture purchase orders, stock receipts, and stock movements into the ERP system.
  • Support monthly and ad hoc stock takes, ensuring accurate reconciliation and reporting.
  • Generate supply chain and procurement reports as required.
  • Ensure filing and record-keeping of procurement and supply chain documentation is accurate and up to date.

Sales and Client Support

  • Provide the sales team with accurate information on stock availability, packing options, and production requirements.
  • Assist with client queries by coordinating information from procurement, production, and logistics teams.
  • Support the preparation of client-facing documentation related to supply chain (e.g., lead times, stock availability, packaging specifications).

Stock Control and Supply Chain Coordination

  • Monitor stock levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, and flag risks of shortages or excess.
  • Assist in balancing inventory requirements with production schedules and sales demand.
  • Support the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager in maintaining visibility and accuracy across stockholding.
  • Coordinate with warehousing and production staff to ensure smooth flow of materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Business Central advantageous).

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or administrative support (FMCG experience an advantage).

Skills:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
